Chicago Ghost Tour Pub Crawl
Guided walking tour of the beautiful, glamorous, and very haunted
Constructed in 1869, the Water Tower was home to a critical water pump, drawing water from the expansive Lake Michigan. But this ordinary tower holds an extraordinary tale. During the infamous Chicago Fire of 1871, as the city was engulfed in flames, a brave pumpman chose to remain, working the pumps while others fled in fear.
Tragically, his valiant efforts were in vain. Cornered by the relentless fire, the lone pumpman chose a gruesome fate over the fiery inferno. He ascended to the top of the tower and took his own life, preferring the rope's cold embrace to the fiery death below. To this day, on some nights, observers claim to see the spectral image of this tragic figure, hanging solemnly in the Water Tower's upper windows.
Join us for a ghost tour pub crawl like no other. Grab your pint and steel your nerves as we explore Chicago's haunted past, with the Water Tower's eerie tale being just one of the chilling stories we'll unearth.
